“Jonne Väisänen, born 1994 in Kuopio, operates in the literal universe and is as well based there. The so-called “real” (social) context is the source of his artistic working material, as the “it” is happening on levels that are not always material and permanent. Väisänen’s works are often described as underground with(in) their immaterial presence – the character is dynamically changing in order to achieve processual outcomes. When looking at (the) works from a (safe) distance, we can point out performative and/or action art aspects in the gestures, that comprise typical physical/visual artworks.”
